    Description

If you know you know. This is a vintage Guardala Studio, the basis for Michael Brecker’s actual mouthpiece (the later MB1 model was not actually based on Brecker’s piece, but instead designed to produce a sound like his).
Handmade by Dave Guardala, and perfected by the prominent German mouthpiece refacer Kay Siebold. His work was purely correctional, leaving the original facing intact. The piece plays better than and unlike any other modern mouthpiece - Theo Wanne, refaced Dukoff, you name it.
Pairs perfectly with the included Selmer 404 ligature for a bright and responsive but very fat tone. For an example of this specific piece on record, search for “Style” by Matthew Cha.
This is a wonderful, truly one of a kind piece that I’ve been holding onto for a long time, but the tip opening is just too small for me to play comfortably. Rather than ruin an absolute classic mouthpiece by refacing it, I’d much rather some it’s right for have it!
